Below you'll find our Weekly Huatulco Weather Report. This is an amateur effort to give people an idea of what the weather is like here. It is of my personal perception of the weather and diving conditions over the last week and it is certainly not a prediction! Weather Report # 165. Week: 14 - 20 July 2008

Weather

Daytime highs: 30°C / 34°C (86°F / 94°F)

Minimum temperature: 25°C / 27°C (77°F / 81°F)

This week it was mostly sunny and dry, with some scattered clouds here and there. Only Wednesday we had a brief shower in the middle of the day. Towards the end of the week it became hotter and more humid again.

Diving Conditions

Ocean: A bit on the rough side, the port was closed a few times. Much calmer than the previous week though. Saturday we had quite a bit of surge.

Temperature: Around 28°C / 30°C (82°F / 86°F).

Visibility: Tuesday and Wednesday it was about 7m / 10m (20ft / 30ft). Saturday it was pretty bad, we postponed the dives until Monday.

Hurricane Season

On Monday Tropical Storm Elida became a hurricane. On Tuesday Tropical Storm Fausto formed, both were far away from Huatulco and moving away from us. Friday Elida was downgraded to a tropical storm, while Fausto became a hurricane. By Sunday Elida had dissapated, Fausto was still a hurricane.
