Below you'll find our Weekly Huatulco Weather Report. This is an amateur effort to give people an idea of what the weather is like here. It is of my personal perception of the weather and diving conditions over the last week and it is certainly not a prediction! Weather Report # 139. Week: 13 - 20 January 2008

Weather

Daytime highs: 28°C / 33°C (82°F / 92°F)

Minimum temperature: 20°C / 22°C (68°F / 72°F)

It was sunny and dry all week. Thursday we had a strange phenomenon, at least for Huatulco. Around midday a thick fog came rollling in from the ocean and covered the coastline in a thick "blanket". It dissolved quickly again, the whole event took place within two hours. It brought the temperature down several degrees in a very short time though. Most of the week it was relatively cool, until yesterday (Sunday) when it suddenly went up to 33°C (92°F).

Diving Conditions

Ocean: Calm. Saturday the port was closed, but up until today (Monday), nobody knows why. It sure wasn't rough, we dove off Violin Beach that day.

Temperature: Between 25°C and 27°C (77°F / 80°F). On one particular dive last week it was only 22°C (72°F).

Visibility: Up and down again this week. Anywhere between 7m and 12m+ (20ft / 40ft+) depending on the day and the site.

We saw some Humpback Whales again this week. For a video of the whales, and some Devil Rays, go to our Video Gallery Click here to see our latest videos
