Below you'll find our Weekly Huatulco Weather Report. This is an amateur effort to give people an idea of what the weather is like here. It is of my personal perception of the weather and diving conditions over the last week and it is certainly not a prediction! Weather Report # 118. Week: 19 - 26 August 2007

Weather

Daytime highs: 29°C / 32°C (84°F / 90°F)

Minimum temperature: 24°C / 26°C (75°F / 79°F)

The first few days this week were sunny and dry. Wednesday afternoon it was overcast and we had a few drops of rain. Thursday started out sunny, but in the afternoon it became overcast and around 17:30 hrs. it started to rain. That lasted well into the night and sometimes it was pretty heavy. Friday was overcast all day, but dry. Saturday it was partly sunny, partly cloudy, and Sunday was sunny all day. The last three nights we had a few moderate to heavy showers. The second half of the week we had some gusty winds during the afternoons. All in all not too bad this week, still plenty of sun and most of the rain fell overnight.

Hurricane Season

There was no tropical cyclone activity in our area this week.

As you all probably know by now, the Caribbean side of Mexico was hit by Hurricane Dean, one of the most powerful hurricanes ever to make landfall. Some places are really badly affected, in general however, it could have been much worse. We did not get any direct effects from it, although it did pull up the rain bands normally located more to the South of us, which eventually caused some more-than-normal rainfall in  the Huatulco area.
