PADI Underwater Naturalist Specialty Course Details

Course Duration - 1 Day

Course Contents                                                                                  Time Needed  (approx.)

Preparation / Self Study                                                                                       1 hr.

  • Read the appropriate chapter in the Adventures in Diving Manual and complete the Knowledge Review

  • Watch the PPB Video (optional)

Knowledge Development                                                                                   1 hr.

  • Review the Knowledge Review with your Instructor

  • Attend the Dive Briefings conducted by your Instructor

  • Attend Knowledge Development Presentation (if applicable)

Open Water Training                                                                                     4 - 5 hrs.

  • Conduct 2 Open Water Training Dives

Example Schedule

Without preparation and over 1 day. When you book with enough time in advance, we can get you the materials to prepare for the course. We are flexible and will adjust a schedule when appropriate. We will spend all the time with you, that is needed to complete a course.

  • First Day

  • 09:30 - 10:30 ---- knowledge development

  • 10:30 - 14:30 ---- open water dives

  • 14:30 - 15:00 ---- debriefing

Course Prerequisites

To qualify for the PADI Underwater Naturalist Specialty Course, an individual must:

  • Be certified as an Open Water Diver, Junior Open Water Diver or have equivalent ratings

  • Be 10 years of age or older
