PADI Scuba Diver Course Details

Course Duration - 2 to 3 Days

  • Complete 10 minute Float

Open Water Training                                                                                  4 - 5 hrs.

Course Prerequisites

To enroll in a PADI Scuba Diver Course, an individual must:

  • Be able to swim

  • Be at least 10 years old

  • If applicable, submit, to the instructor, medical clearance for diving signed by a physician, attesting to fitness to dive. The medical clearance must be current within the previous 12 months. The physician signing the medical clearance cannot be the applicant.

Note: a person under 15 years of age will be certified as a Junior PADI Scuba Diver

PADI Open Water Diver Course Details

Course Prerequisites

To enroll in a PADI Open Water Diver Course, an individual must:

  • Be able to swim

Course Prerequisites

To enroll in a PADI Adventure Diver Course, an individual must:

  • Be certified as a PADI (Junior) Open Water Diver or have an equivalent rating. "Equivalency" is defined as proof of an entry-level scuba certification with a minimum of four open water training dives.

  • Be at least 10 years of age to participate in the following Adventure Dives: AWARE - Fish Identification, Boat Diver, Peak Performance Buoyancy, Underwater Naturalist and Underwater Photography

  • Be 12 years of age or older to participate in all Adventure Dives

Note: a person under 15 years of age will be certified as a Junior Adventure Diver

PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Course Details

Course Prerequisites

To enroll in a PADI Rescue Diver Course, an individual must:

  • Be certified as a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver or have an equivalent rating. "Equivalency" is defined as proof of certification beyond entry level (at least two certifications total), and proof of 20 or more logged dives documenting experience in deep diving and underwater navigation.

  • Be 12 years of age or older

Note: to be certified as a PADI Rescue Diver, the student diver must have successfully completed a sanctioned course in CPR within the past 24 months. The PADI Emergency First Response Course is highly recommended and can be used to meet this requirement.

Note: a person under 15 years of age will be certified as a Junior Rescue Diver.

PADI Emergency First Response Course Details

Course Prerequisites

To enroll in the DAN Oxygen First Aid Course, the candidate must:

  • Be 12 years of age

  • Have succesfully completed Medic First Aid and CPR Training within the last 24 months (DAN highly recommends this, Hurricane Divers requieres it)

Note: there are two specific Oxygen First Aid Courses:

  • DAN Oxygen First Aid for Scuba Diving Injuries. This course is designed for certified divers and people otherwise involved with diving.

  • DAN Oxygen First Aid for Aquatic Emergencies. This course is designed for pool owners, boat crews, snorkel guides and other people otherwise involved with watersports other than scuba diving.

Note: retraining is highly recommended every two years, for both courses.

DAN First Aid for Hazardous Marine Life Injuries Details

PADI Underwater Navigator Specialty Course Details

Course Duration - 1 to 2 Days

Preparation / Self Study                                                                                    1 hr.

  • Read the Underwater Navigator Manual or the appropriate chapter in the Adventures in Diving Manual and complete the Knowledge Review

  • Watch the Underwater Navigation Video (optional)

Knowledge Development                                                                                  1 hr.

  • Review the Knowledge Review with your Instructor

  • Attend the Dive Briefings conducted by your Instructor

Open Water Training                                                                                   6 - 8 hrs.

  • Conduct 3 Open Water Training Dives

Without preparation and over 2 days. When you book with enough time in advance, we can get you the materials to prepare for the course. We are flexible and will adjust a schedule when appropriate. We will spend all the time with you, that is needed to complete a course.

  • First Day

  • 09:30 - 11:00 ---- knowledge development

  • 11:00 - 15:00 ---- 2 open water dives

  • Second Day

  • 09:30 - 10:30 ---- knowledge development

  • 10:30 - 13:00 ---- 1 open water dive

  • 13:00 - 14:00 ---- debriefing

Course Prerequisites

To qualify for the PADI Underwater Navigator Specialty Course, an individual must:

  • Be certified as an Open Water Diver, Junior Open Water Diver or have equivalent ratings

  • Be 12 years of age or older

PADI Deep Diver Specialty Course Details

Course Duration - 2 Days

  • Read the Deep Diver Specialty Manual or the appropriate chapter in the Adventures in Diving Manual and complete the Knowledge Review

  • Watch the Deep Diver Video (optional)

  • Review the Knowledge Review with your Instructor

  • Attend the Dive Briefings conducted by your Instructor

  • Attend Knowledge Development Presentation (if applicable)

Open Water Training                                                                                 8 - 10 hrs.

  • Conduct 4 Open Water Training Dives

  • Read the U/W Photography Specialty Manual or the appropriate chapter in the Adventures in Diving Manual and complete the Knowledge Review

  • Review the Knowledge Review with your Instructor

  • Attend the Dive Briefings conducted by your Instructor

  • Attend Knowledge Development Presentation (if applicable)

Course Prerequisites

To qualify for the PADI Search & Recovery Specialty Course, an individual must:

  • Be certified as a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver, Junior Advanced Open Water Diver or have an equivalent rating

or

Be certified as a PADI Open Water Diver, Junior Open Water Diver and PADI Underwater Navigator Specialty Diver or equivalent. In this case, equivalent is defined as proof of entry-level scuba certification and proof of specialty course certification in underwater navigation with a minimum of three scuba dives that include training in natural and compass navigation.

  • Be 12 years of age or older
